Hello Kitefliers, Welcome to our 2012 News Page
Happy New Year to Kitefliers everywhere!
The Poole Kite Picnic on Sunday 15th May 2011, was a blustery, sunny day and was thoroughly enjoyed by us all.
During the day we heard some disturbing news. Poole Harbour Commissioners propose to build an 800 berth marina 200 metres off Hamworthy Park.
This proposal, if built, would destroy this fabulous location for Kiting, Windsurfing and probably impact on most other water based sports in the area as well.
For all users of Hamworthy Park the existing views over to Brownsea would be replaced by yet another water based car park for the well-heeled. Please add your voice to the "No" vote here.
The Poole Kite Picnic on Sunday 18th June was something of a washout. The Poole Kite Picnic on Sunday 10th July 2011 started off with not much wind but improved as the day went on. It clouded over around lunchtime but we managed to stay dry and get a full day of flying, a good day enjoyed by us all!
The Poole Kite Picnic on Sunday 14th August 2011 was a blustery day, at times a little overcast. We all enjoyed a full days kite flying and got a fly past from the Red Arrows as well.
The Poole Kite Picnic on Sunday 9th October 2011 for "One Sky, One World" was a sunny and blustery day. The usual crew were joined by some new faces, kite surfers and young flyers. By the end of the day A total of 125 kites had been flown by 20 kite flyers.
